Recovery of a Firefly which dropped a wheel in the walkway. This was carried out by hauling down on the wingboard while simultaneously lifting with the crane on the propeller boss and assisted by men on the wing as dead weight. Tackle is ripped at the stern which is pulled in board when the outboard wheel becomes flush with the deck. The wingboard fits at the aileron gib rib and one-ton blocks seem adequate to take the .WITH THE EMPRESS AT SEA. NOVEMBER 1944, ON BOARD THE ESCORT CARRIER HMS EMPRESS DURING DECK LANDING TRAINING.
